Each piece is turned from a single section of wood and is therefore robust. This process ensures that every chess piece in this set will last for generations rather than just a few years.

Despite their modest price, all of the Down Head Knight range is crafted and finished to an excellent standard. Each piece has been hand-polished to a medium gloss finish, creating an excellent but not overstated shine. The black pieces are ebonized: a process that creates the look of real ebony and further strengthens and preserves the wood.

These chess pieces will sit perfectly on our 17.7-inch and larger chessboards, and are also available in smaller sizes of 3-inch and 2.5-inch.
