24-karat gold plating, 990 silver plating, and solid oak are the three primary materials used to create the San Severeo Chess Pieces.

At the prestigious Italfama workshop in Florence, craftsmen screw each top piece into its matching base through one inch of solid oak. The metal chess pieces are extremely solid and durable, their qualities greatly enhanced by gold and silver plating.

Exclusive molds

Before they are assembled, the San Severeo Chess Pieces are cast in unique molds to which Italfama holds exclusive rights.

Once ready, each component is finished with precious metals and solid oak, then shipped from Italy to the Regency Chess headquarters in Frome, Somerset.

Although these chess pieces are unique, they still adhere to the classic Staunton chess shape. The knight, bishop, and rook are all easily identifiable despite their artisan nature.
