This stunning Staunton chess set features 4.3-inch ebony and antiqued boxwood chess pieces, a high-gloss 23.6-inch Spanish palisander board, a solid sheesham chess piece case, and a traditional wind-up chess clock, a true collector’s piece.
The king is an imposing figure at 4.3 inches, and along with his army, is perfectly weighted for balance with billiard-cloth-covered bases for board protection.
The ebony quality and unique antiqued boxwood make this set not only an enviable acquisition but also a good investment and heirloom for future generations. The boxwood is intentionally antiqued, giving it a charming, vintage look. Its weathered texture and subtle variations are part of the design, adding character and warmth.
Beautifully crafted by the world-famous Rechapados Ferrer of Spain, this 23.6-inch board, with its 2.4-inch playing squares, makes a perfect battlefield for the Reproduction Staunton chess pieces. High-grade veneers of rich palisander have been utilized to create the stunning border around the black anegre and light maple squares in the playing area. The deep gloss lacquer finish not only protects the board but also accentuates the wood grain in the veneers.
