A stunning Staunton-inspired chess set featuring elegant Parthenon ebony and boxwood chess pieces, paired with a case and a deluxe walnut-and-maple chess board handcrafted in Spain.

The Parthenon chess pieces are deluxe quality, large, elegant and exquisitely finished in ebony and graded boxwood. The design is based on the familiar Staunton lines but has a more classical, columnar look. This is most noticeable in the shape of the long shanks and the angular lines of the bishop's miter. Each chess piece is well-balanced, weighted, and polished to a very high sheen without the use of synthetic waxes or lacquers.

The large deluxe walnut-and-maple chess board is made just outside of Barcelona in Spain. The attention to detail is sublime, with sub-millimeter sharp lines and inlays supported by grain-matched playing squares and a robust matte-finish, lacquered surface. The rich browns, reds and yellows of the walnut really complement the black ebony and yellow boxwood chess pieces, creating a very traditional-looking chess set with subtle hints from classical architecture.
