Each chess piece in this set has been expertly turned from solid boxwood. The black chess pieces have been ebonized, a very convincing process that gives them the look of real ebony without the same price tag. Each chess piece is weighted for perfect balance and has a felted base.

Produced by the highly reputable chess board artisan Rechapados Ferrer of Spain, this superbly presented wooden chess board also represents great value. Quality walnut and maple veneered construction using modern fabrication techniques produces a chess board with sharp lines, fastidious detailing, and a clean, modern outline.
