A hand-painted Battle of Waterloo chess set featuring Bonaparte and Wellington, with finely detailed themed chess pieces and an optional Spanish-made chess board.

Led by a very recognizable Bonaparte and Wellington, each king is accompanied by his respective queen, Josephine and Catherine. With the French dressed in navy and the British in red, the bishops are smartly uniformed officers, with the knights as intricately carved mounted cavalry. The pawns are infantry bearing firearms, represented as cannons with the relevant country's flag flying above. The rooks in this set are the most eye-catching pieces on the board.

With a 15.7-inch walnut and maple chess board from Spain, this makes a very enviable chess set. The Battle of Waterloo themed chess pieces are, however, also available without the chess board. Either way, this would make a superb gift.
